Born in West Virginia and raised in Virginia, Dr. DeRosa is a 2000 graduate of the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. In 2002, she earned her Master's Degree in Veterinary Medicine, working with dairy producers in a developing country to help improve milk production. She has completed short-term mission work in both the Dominican Republic and Bolivia.
After graduation, Dr. DeRosa began her career in Baltimore, MD, in 2002 where she worked full-time in a thriving small animal practice before moving back to Virginia in 2009. Her family moved from the southwest corner of the state to the Shenandoah Valley in 2020 to seek educational opportunities for her special needs child.
Her professional interests include preventative medicine, dermatology, palliative care, and the human-animal bond. She enjoys partnering with clients to provide the best care possible for their pet. She evaluates client goals for each pet and the pet's needs to provide the best individualized care possible.
Along with her husband, Dr. DeRosa lives with her daughter and son. They share their home with two dogs, Bonnie (a chihuahua) and Jolene (a pug mix). She is looking forward to acquiring a larger space to expand her pet family. In her spare moments, Dr. DeRosa enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, teaching, and participating in church activities.
